Tackling inequalities in Cancer care: new webpages launch highlighting how we are using Community Research to create lasting change
We are delighted to be launching a brand-new Community Research website, championing the collaborative work we are involved in to tackle inequalities in Cancer care across the Wessex Region (Hampshire, Dorset and Isle of Wight).
The website has been created as a space to share information about Community Research as a model, its history and how we are using this model to empower communities as co-researchers and decision makers.
As Trans Day of Visibility approaches this Sunday, we are proud to launch and share with you our project page for Trans Aware Cancer Care.
Trans Aware Cancer Care
Trans Aware Cancer Care (TACC) focuses on Trans+ people who experience inequity and inaccessibility in cancer services. We are currently setting up a series of interactive workshops led by Community Researchers to hear directly from the Trans+ community about their experiences. These experiences will help to create solutions, which will be jointly worked on by the Trans+ community, the NHS and others involved in Cancer care.
Through the Community Research webpages, we will keep you informed regularly- you can read more about TACC and our current blogs here. Keep an eye out for podcasts too!
Partnership and Collaboration is key to the Community Research model and we are currently working with partners from:
- Bournemouth University
- Macmillan Cancer Support
- Beyond Reflections
- Wessex Cancer Alliance
- University Hospital Southampton
If you’d like to find out more about Community Research, the current projects we are running (including TACC), or if you have any comments about the website email involvingpeople@helpandcare.org.uk.
